Lawncare

Don't quit your day jobs folks!! In fact, do all you can to finish school and then get a day job! Today was day one of my temporary summer law mowing job. I work for my uncle's lawn care business and today I spent 6 hours mowing....back and forth, back and forth.... sweaty pants, calloused hands, green shoes...

I'm not complaining, really I'm not. I feel very fortunate to have a job the day after my internship is over. I'm just saying...I'm glad this is temporary. There are some perks to this that I am looking forward to. Nice calfs, great farmers tan, and some money in my pocket.  It also gave me some good thinking time. Between random fast food jingles like "Arby's! It's good mood food" and wondering if I left the oven on at home I think I managed to write a few poems in my head while I was mowing. (I won't forget to charge my i-pod again!)

Today I came to one conclusion. It doesn't matter where you work or how often you work just so long as you spend the same amount of time that you spent working doing something for yourself! Whether it be time with family, a hobby, or just reading a good book, do something that you enjoy. It'll ensure a well balanced life and who wouldn't want that?! (can you see a little bit of the recreation therapist coming out in me?)
